Integrated Symposia

A TPP for antibiotics to treat severe enteric infections in LMICs 

On the Tuesday morning of the conference, September 17th, between 10:00 and 12:00 local time, CARB-X together with the GNA NOW consortium will host an expert meeting to develop Target Product Profile(s) for antibiotics to treat severe enteric infections in LMICs. During this 2-hour session, there will be a panel discussion with active engagement of the audience to engage with experts in the field to define a TPP for bacterial enteric infections (focusing on E. coli, Shigella, Salmonella and Campylobacter) for LMIC environment. This is a great opportunity to guide the TPP development that has significant impact on LMIC patients (with the biggest impact on children), with the aim to after the meeting summarise the conclusions and disseminate them in the form of a publication.

  • David Paterson (Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, Singapore)

Additionally, Kamini Walia, from the Indian council of Medical Research, may also be able to join the panel.

Abstract submission

Abstract submissions are welcomed from 27 May to 17 June 2024. Notification of acceptance will be shared in mid-July.

Oral Abstract Presentation Award

ESCMID is pleased to announce that MDPI and their open access journal antibiotics are sponsoring the best oral presentation award. 

During the conference, the programme committee will follow and monitor all oral abstract presentation and decide the together for the winner of this award. The award will be awarded in the last conference day (20 September 2024) during the closing session (12:00 – 12:30). 

The winner will be granted free registration to the next ESCMID Conference.
