Through the Infection and Prevention Control (IPC) certificate programme of the European Committee on Infection Control (EUCIC), experts from various training centres, countries, and professions are brought together to help shape the next generation of IPC specialists. The European Centre for Disease Control (ECDC) is also a proud contributor to this learning experience, providing advanced modules on surveillance, epidemiology, and data analysis.
The EUCIC Infection Prevention and Control Certificate is the first training programme providing both meta and European competence. Graduates of the EUCIC programme will be able to cope with the major challenges that are ahead in the field of infection prevention and control.
The second wave of learning started in Groningen in May 2024 with a basic course, followed by ten required modules and activities over a two-year period.
The two-year programme began with a required basic module in Groningen. From there, trainees had the opportunity to attend advanced and local modules across different countries. This cohort graduated during ESCMID Global 2024.

At the end of each module, students will be given a short evaluation to assess overall comprehension. Finally, upon completion of the entire programme, a final exam with written and oral sections will be given.
You will receive CME credits for each module you attend and complete. The number of credit points for each module is indicated on the EUCIC website.
