In an era defined by the global spread of Infectious Diseases (IDs), marked by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic and the escalating threat of multidrug-resistant organisms, the necessity for intensified commitment to Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) is critical. Yet, among these challenges, training opportunities and IPC qualifications remain unfortunately scarce. However, within Europe’s diverse approaches to tackling IPC lies expertise, rooted in local epidemiology and healthcare system organisation, offering the potential for significant impact when shared. This is why, building upon these rich perspectives and approaches, the EUCIC continuously hosts a tailored educational programme designed to shape the next wave of IPC experts, equipped to confront the evolving challenges of ID and antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
