Since 2002, the ESCMID Summer School has been a leading educational event. The week-long programme focuses on postgraduate studies and medical education, offering expert lectures in Clinical Microbiology (CM) and Infectious Diseases (ID). The Summer School is open to MDs completing specialty training, biologists, pharmacists, PhD students, and postdocs in CM and ID. Join for a comprehensive learning experience.
The 23rd ESCMID Summer School will be held in Dublin, Ireland, in the first week of July 2025. The Summer School promises to be an excellent chance to discover more about CM and ID.
The 22nd ESCMID Summer School programme took place from 29 June to 6 July 2024 in Utrecht, Netherlands. Participants enjoyed a week of great sessions and activities with a diverse group of 80 young physicians, microbiologists, and researchers from 31 countries who visited the University Medical Center Utrecht for a professional knowledge exchange with local specialists.
The week of workshops reviewed hot topics, such as diagnostic stewardship in bacteriology, treatment of infections by MDR bacteria, or prevention of post-operative infections. Participants also presented their work, based either on their research projects or clinical cases from their professional experience. This rich academic week served as a wonderful backdrop for discussions between the participants and faculty members, with plenty of networking opportunities. This group of Summer School participants were able to take advantage of the opportunity to exchange among peers while discovering Utrecht, whether between sessions, during the various planned evening events or while out visiting cultural sights.
