An immersive on-site learning experience offered in collaboration with a leading university hospital situated in Southern Europe. This unique course provides participants with the opportunity to gain firsthand insights into the design, implementation, and impact of an antimicrobial stewardship programme (ASP) in a specific setting characterized by a low rate of multidrug-resistant organisms (MDRO). 

Intended audience: 

Target Audience ID Physicians, Medical Microbiologists, Clinical Pharmac(olog)ists, ICU physicians, Internists, Specialist Nurses, Pediatricians and other medical specialties. 

Objectives: 

  • To learn how an antimicrobial stewardship programme (ASP) was designed and implemented in a specific setting (University hospital with a low rate of multidrug-resistant organisms [MDRO] located in Southern Europe)
  • To observe and learn how the ASP interventions are performed in real life in the different clinical settings and scenarios, with the available resources
  • To discuss how to measure the impact of the interventions
  • To understand the importance of the synergy between infection control and ASP

Course organisers will monitor attendance. Only participants attending live sessions will be able to receive the certification.

This course is part of the AMS Certificate Programme, but has some spaces open to registrations outside of the programme.
