This course explains the criteria and methods for determining breakpoints to antimicrobial agents and the EUCAST methods by which these are implemented and controlled in microbiological laboratories. Participants will also be able to get a hands-on experience involving practical work on susceptibility testing.
Intended audience:
Scientists, clinical microbiologists, microbiology specialists and trainees, infectious diseases specialists and antimicrobial pharmacists are all welcome to join the course.
Objectives:
At the end of the course participants will have an understanding of the criteria and methods for determining antimicrobial breakpoints. They will also explore the specific EUCAST methodology and how to implement within their microbiological laboratories.
