Vaccination during Pregnancy: For the Mother, and for the Child

The attendees will first be provided an overview of the modifications of the immune system associated with pregnancy, and then in one hand the burden of the disease and in the other hand the impact for the mother and/or the child of vaccination during pregnancy, particularly for 3 diseases: influenza, pertussis, and RSV infection.

Intended audience:

Infectious Diseases Specialists; Obstetricians Interested In Vaccination; Midwives; NITAG Members.

Objectives:

  • Evaluate the increased susceptibility of pregnant women to vaccine-preventable diseases.
  • Investigate the development of immune responses to vaccination in pregnant women.
  • Assess the efficacy of vaccination in preventing specific infections during pregnancy (e.g., pertussis, influenza, RSV, Covid-19).
  • Determine factors influencing the adherence of pregnant women and their families to vaccination recommendations.
