The online modules available on this page are a useful tool for all ESCMID members involved in guidelines development and systematic reviews and/or performing systematic reviews.
All panel members in ESCMID guidelines projects and participants to the yearly onsite course are strongly encouraged to follow them in advance to familiarise with the GRADE methodology as well as systematic reviews and meta-analysis performing.
Discover the online modules designed by the McMaster University and Cochrane group tailored to help guideline developers and authors of systematic reviews master the GRADE approach. These modules will help guideline developers and authors of systematic reviews learn how to use the GRADE approach to grade the evidence in systematic reviews, create Summary of Findings Tables and GRADE Evidence Profiles, and move from evidence to making recommendations.
Each module lasts up to 20 minutes and covers a specific topic related to GRADE and should be viewed in order.

There are 6 modules in this course, that will introduce you to methods to perform systematic reviews and meta-analysis of clinical trials. It will cover how to formulate an answerable research question, define inclusion and exclusion criteria, search for the evidence, extract data, assess the risk of bias in clinical trials, and perform a meta-analysis.
